The world’s first ‘smart’ hair straightener is here and we are intrigued

The world’s first ‘smart’ hair straightener is here.

Smart technology is progressing all the time and the latest item that encompasses this predictive know-how is GHD’s new release, the Platinum Plus.

Yep, the brand new hair straightener is the first of its kind and the beauty world is buzzing with excitement.

So what does a smart straightener actually mean?

Basically, it controls heat more efficiently and protects your hair ultimately resulting in healthier and shinier hair.

It heats up in 20 seconds and wait for this, the “predictive technology recognises the thickness of your hair, the section size and the speed at which you are styling and adjusts the power accordingly”.

Sounds impressive, to be hair.

The new straightener, described as a “hair breakthrough” launches this week and is priced at €225.

The best bit though is the fact that it’s designed to cut the amount of time you spend styling your hair in half so if it usually takes twenty minutes to style your locks, this will only take ten minutes.

The infinity sensors, fancy we know, monitor the heat 250 times per second (that’s pretty fast) and this ensures the safer-for-hair temperate of 185°C.

For someone who has a ridiculously thick mane and loves the snooze button, this is music to my ears.
