Either it just won't work or it will give you the worst shave of your life or worse again, you'll end up with unsightly razor bumps because you used a dirty razor.

Anyway, the best thing to do is wash your razor straight after shaving, let it air dry, and if you happen to have some antiseptic liquid sitting at home, soak it which will remove any bacteria and leave it good as new.
Do NOT leave it sitting on the edge of the bath or shower where it will rust. When that happens, it's destined for the bin.
