Their diets and eating habits were taken into consideration with the results showing that those who consumed more skimmed milk suffered worse bouts of acne.
Interestingly, those who had less acne either stuck with full-fat regular dairy milk or else soy and almond alternatives.
The overall conclusion was that "consumption of low-fat/skim milk, but not full-fat milk, was positively associated with acne".
Of course, there are a number of factors associated with acne including junk food, high sugar intake, stress and hormonal imbalances but on this occasion, skimmed milk was found to be the main culprit.
