This is what we’re doing wrong when buying mascara

Waste not, want not lads.

Ahhhh.

When it comes to buying mascara, I always opt for a full-size product and never even think of the smaller travel sizes.

However, after checking out this Reddit thread, where many users are of the opinion that smaller versions are better because that way, the mascara is used up before it gets to the dried-out clumpy stage.

As one person said: “the smaller the packaging the less air that can enter to dry out the product” which you think about it, this makes a lot of sense.

Travel sizes are usually slimmer and fit in your makeup easier

Other people commented on the brush size saying that the brushes and wands that come with smaller products are often better and easier to wiggle through your lashes.

Even the experts agree with this theory with makeup artist Edward Cruz telling Allure: “Travel- or sample size mascaras are genius because you’re able to use the formula to its fullest potential since every second liquid makeup is exposed to air, its formula becomes weakened”.

If Edward, makeup artist to the stars, says it’s genius, that’s good enough for us.

Now you know why you find yourself throwing out tubes of mascara before they’re finished but thankfully, this hack should make that a thing of the past.

Mini sizes are WAY cuter too!
