This Simple Step Could Overhaul Your Make-Up Routine

There's one significant change.

When it comes to highlighting and contouring, there’s multiple different ways to approach this particular make-up look.

There’s the reverse contour, colour contouring and clown contouring to name but a few variations and now there’s yet another tip for getting your contour on point.

Hrush Achemyan, who often makes up Kim Kardashian’s face, says that applying highlighter under the eyes pre-contour is key.

However, contrary to what we’ve been led to believe, applying the product in downward strokes instead of upward is best.

“You want to use downward strokes because you don’t want to enhance pores; you want to conceal them” said Hrush.

As Allure points out, experts usually recommend applying make-up in upward strokes so you don’t pull at your skin.

The publication spoke to Joshua Zeichner, an assistant professor of Dermatology, to query which direction is best.

He said that as long as you use “light strokes”, applying product in downward strokes shouldn’t cause too much damage to your skin.

Seeing as Kim is the queen of contouring, we might have to give this a go.
