Tried and Tested – Essie Two Week Manicure

Perefct for a pre-Christmas pamper...

Cathy Donohue

The three week manicure has proved a game changer in the beauty industry as thanks to Shellac and Gelish, unsightly chipped nail varnish is a thing of the past.

We’ve all jumped on the bandwagon, because let’s face it, who doesn’t want to have pretty talons all of the time?!

Sometimes though, it’s easy to neglect the care of your nails when you’re hooked on your next CND fix.

Nail queen Essie figures she knows the score when it comes to protecting your nails and of course, ensuring they look great.

We popped along to Brown Sugar, located on Dublin’s South William Street, to see what all the fuss was about and we were not disappointed.

Dearbhla Keenan was on hand to give us the down low on why Essie Weingarten, founder of Essie Cosmetics, left it a little late to join the gel manicure party.

Essie was determined to find the perfect solution that would hydrate and protect the nails as well as delivering that salon perfect look.

A lot of time and effort was put into finding the a successful formula and you can now opt for a gel manicure, knowing you’re not doing long-term damage to your nails.

The Prep and Finish cleanser preps the nail bed, helping the manicure to last longer, the keratin infused Base Coat nourished and protects and of course a top coat will guarantee talons so shiny, you can practically see through them.

Even the remover used is packed with rich oils that condition and nourish so it’s definitely worth visiting the salon to have your manicure taken off, no DIY jobs here (yes, we’re guilty too).

If you’re a Essie fan, you’ll be delighted to know that many of the brand’s popular shades have corresponding gel shades.

Devotees of Ballet Slippers need to ask for Dance Class, Angora Cardi ladies will be switching to Sweater Girl and Chinchilly fans will now be Puffering Up.

For a pre Christmas pamper that will protect, nourish and last then we’re all over the Essie Gel Manicure.

Brown Sugar offers the manicure for €35 with no charge for removing the gel. To find out more call 01 6169967 or visit the website.
