The week I went in to get the Hydrafacial, I had been very under the weather, and just felt awful.

So naturally, I was excited to get a bit of a glow back in my face.

However, I was skeptical, I won’t lie.

The Hydrafacial’s motto is “no pain, and all the gain”, which seemed to good to be true.

However, the motto is correct, and the process is actually quite relaxing.

So, what exactly goes on?

The first step of the facial is cleansing and exfoliation. The machine removes all dead skin cells to reveal healthy new skin.

Next up a glycolic solution is applied to the skin, which helps to loosen impurities, blackheads and debris from pores without irritation.

Then came the extractions.

Usually, extractions result in my eyes running, and in me squealing like a baby.

However, these painless, automated extractions were carried out using suction to clean out pores and remove blackheads.

I can’t stress this enough – this is the ONLY way to get extractions.

Finally, Hydration.

Antioxidants and hyaluronic acid are infused to nourish and protect the skin.

Immediately after the Hydrafacial, my face was a little on the red side, but that’s really just down to the fact that I have hyper-sensitive skin.

However, by the time I got home (about an hour later) I was honestly glowing.

I didn’t wear makeup for four days after the facial, because I literally didn’t need to.

If you’re looking for something to give you that extra glow before Christmas, get to Fifth Avenue ASAP.

You’re welcome.
