This two-ingredient mask promises to brighten your face and help with acne scars

Yes, we saw it on TikTok.

Mindlessly scrolling through TikTok really does have its benefits. If you manage to get through all of the dances that you can't do (just me?) then sometimes you'll find some outstanding nuggets of skincare gold.

I stumbled across one such nugget when I found the account of Amy Chang or @bondenavant an absolute skincare savant who constantly features on my 'For You Page' (see, I know the lingo). I legitimately watched her videos for two hours straight over the weekend.

Now, in terms of a warning we have to say that obviously everyone's skin is different and what works for one person may not work for someone else. There's a lot of masks out there, and a lot of DIY masks at that, so do be careful before whacking the kitchen sink onto your face. That being said, there was definitely something about this mask in particular  that made me excited.

Firstly, it's the ease of ingredients and the fact that you probably don't have to go to the shop to get them (crucial) and secondly the fact that this TikToker claims that a mask like this will reduce redness, target acne scars and make your face GLOW!

So, what do you need for this particular mask? Honey and turmeric... that's it. You take two tablespoons of honey mix it with a half teaspoon of turmeric, pop it on your face, wait fifteen minutes then in the words of Amy herself "f**king glow your way to bed".

Aside from the glorious glow you'll receive, how can this mask work at reducing acne scars?

Well, Honey is antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory and it's well documented that honey helps with the bodies natural healing process. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant, mix them together and only good things will come from it.
