This video is the latest addition to Dove’s ‘Real Beauty’ campaign, and it has attracted 2.5 million views in just three days.
Posted to YouTube on Sunday, the video of Dove ‘Real Beauty Sketches’, shows a forensic artist drawing women as described by themselves, and then by others. The information posted with the video reads:
Women are their own worst beauty critics. Only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful. At Dove, we are committed to creating a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety. So, we decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that explores how women view their own beauty in contrast to what others see.
Yes, they’re still in it for the profit margins and selling more products at the end of the day, but there’s no doubting it’s a nice message that would be nice to spread around. You’re more beautiful than you think you are. Or, if it was an Irish version… “Lady, all the other girls think you’re a RIDE!” Nice one.
