Although we've heard many a hair hack in recent times, we always listen up when it's a professional stylist dishing a trick of the trade. This especially applies when the tip in question relates to volume because as long-haired gals and ladies with thin locks will know, that much-sought-after bouncy look isn't all that easy to achieve. However, this tip courtesy of Adam Reed, Editorial Ambassador for L'Oréal Professionnel could make all the difference when it comes to a DIY hairstyle. Adam says that there's one product that's key for enhancing texture and volume, and that's mousse. Yes, mousse which you might associate with 80s beauty is making a comeback and it might just become your new hair must-have. Adam explains exactly how to use mousse and surprisingly, it's all about that double layer.

"I always double layer mousse for a stronger hold, applying it to wet hair, drying it to about 85 percent and then adding another layer for extra hold. I also never apply mousse directly to hair, I use a comb to lift it and then pass it through the hair for a perfectly even application".
