West Cork beauty company creates all natural deodorant - that lasts a whole year
Happy Earth Day.
It's April 22nd, a time for recognising a more sustainable way of living and trying to put some of those measures into practice too.
Over the past few years many beauty companies have adopted more sustainable ethos, going cruelty free, changing their packaging to recyclable alternatives, and ensuring that their products are all-natural, and fully traceable.
One of them is Irish brand Modern Botany, who ahead of Earth Day decided to release their fully all-natural deodorant refill - that apparently lasts a whole year.
Based in West Cork, the sustainable personal care brand introduced their new product this month; a 500ml glass bottle deodorant refill - the firs of its kind, and sorry, just look at the packaging.
Here at Her we love supporting local, and Modern Botany are a brand that's absolutely worth shouting about.
Determined not just to sell products but to give back to the earth through planting, the West Cork company ensures that each of their products are unisex and multipurpose, so that nothing goes to waste.
The company was founded by pharmacognosist, Dr. Simon Jackson and his partner John Murray, the former boasting decades of plants for science knowledge and the latter big into sustainable living.
Their natural deodorant has already won awards, so it makes sense that the guys wanted to launch an even bigger bottle of it - one that's glass, easily recyclable, and totally refillable.
Other products available to purchase from the brand now are their Multi-Tasking Oil, a blend of essential oils for use on the skin and hair, and their Planta Medica Seed Collection containing plant ingredients featured in their products - ideal for keeping the bees happy outdoors.
What's more is that Modern Botany are planning on including more products to their range over the coming months, so if you fancied expending your sustainable beauty collection, you best keep an eye.
