What’s In My Beauty Bag – Rebecca Casserly of Bec Boop

Cathy Donohue

Pretty packaging, hero products, must-have purchases…make-up is a subject we could spend hours chatting about.

Everyone has their tried and tested buys and in a bid to find out more about the best way to get bang for your buck, we decided it was time to call in a little expertise.

Beauty bloggers make it their business to trial run products and are up to date with the latest releases before they even hit the shelves.

In a new weekly feature, we’re going to quiz beauty bloggers on their make-up essentials and why these are the products they return to time and time again.

This week, we’re chatting to Rebecca Casserly and you’ll find her at Bec Boop.

Bec says: As I tend to do a lot of travel with work along with back and forth between Ireland and London, I like to keep my makeup bag contents pretty reliable. I’ll have enough products in there to do my daily makeup routine and everything else stays put in my makeup storage units at home.

Starting with my makeup base, I absolutely love Urban Decay cosmetics and their Prep Spray is my holy grail product. I’ll use this before moisturizing and then move on to a primer – usually tending to opt for the Urban Decay Brightening & Tightening Primer Potion. A good base is super important especially if you’re on the move all day.

When it comes to my foundation my everyday product is the Clinique Even Better foundation and I love that this is quite small and compact but lasts a really long time even when I use it on an everyday basis. I opt for two concealers as both act with different purposes – the Garnier tinted roll-on goes first giving my eyes a little wake-up at the same time.

I’ll follow this with Rimmel Wake me Up Concealer. I should mention that I always have a couple of multi-functional makeup brushes in my makeup bag. I’ll use the Real Techniques brush for applying foundation and concealer and then I currently use some brushes from Urban Beauty United for eyeshadows and contouring. These UBU brushes come in super pretty colours and look great in your makeup bag.

Next I’ll apply some contouring – the Urban Decay Naked on the Run is my current go-to here as the travel compact contains a blush, bronzer and highlighter all in the prettiest tones. I’ll either use this to do my eyes or the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

I follow up with an eyeliner pen such as Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise liner and a few coats of my favourite mascara – Benefit Bad Gal. I have this in both the travel-size and full-size and usually carry both with me in my makeup bag as this is literally the one makeup product I could not go without.

When it comes to my eyebrows I either use the Youngblood Brow Artist kit or if I’m in a rush I’ll have the Benefit Gimme Brow at hand.To finish my look I’ll usually have a couple of lip products in my bag. A good everyday lip pencil is the best investment.

I love the Dior lip pencil and use shade 573 mauve with an overcoat of the Dior Lip Maximizer for good measure.
