Week 2 – A Silicon Success

Some days you feel like Lisa, some days you feel like Marge and then some days you feel like Patti and Selma squished together. Every week in start up is ‘one of those weeks’ but this one was a doozy.

The lows included snots and tears and broken down people who ran out of steam. There was also some cash flow issues and plenty of robbing and borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.

The highs included being found by a tech guru who provided terrifying but constructive insights into the long game of our business, as well as being rubber stamped by a high level international investor who has invested in our business heroes. We did our first Google Hangout, and I can testify that the lighting is of a superior quality, perfect for pitching yourself and your product across the Atlantic. In two weeks we find out if we’ve been selected for a two week all expenses trip to Silicon Valley where our hosts Google will parade us in front of investors and groom us for world domination.

frockadvisor is finding its feet and getting recognised on the world stage. Our customers and user base are growing and people are saying lovely things about what we do.

Oh, and Heidi, our consultant from DBIC (Dublin Business Innovation Centre) said my business plan was elegantly presented and finally complete. Having gone through the surgical procedure of putting it together over more months than I care to tell you, I have to confirm that this was my golden moment.

It’s the little things.
