Zuckerberg highlighted that there had been ‘several recent incidents’ where staff had crossed out the ‘Black Lives Matter’ message, referring to the social movement petitioning against violence towards black people.
In the memo, Facebook has vowed to investigate the activity as part of their ethos to serve as ‘a community where everyone is treated with respect.’
According to The Telegraph, two percent of Facebook’s US employees are black. The company has vowed to hire more women and minority staff as part of its most recent diversity report.Explore more on these topics:
