How annoying is it when you’re splitting a bill at the end of a meal? Or when the waiter tells you that they find it awkward when you’re splitting it over cards.
A new app Cover plans to make the process easier avoiding splitting the bill at the end of the meal. Diners check in with the app when they arrive, which will let the server know you’ll be paying using the app. When a meal is over, payment will be made through the app, and will automatically be split based on the number of diners that were in the dining group.
Cover is currently operating in New York and San Francisco, and the team has signed up more than 80 participating restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn, with an additional 25 signed up in San Francisco.
The app have recently seen a $1.5million investment from seed money and hope to expand the team over the next year, as well as the reach of the company.
