This smart plug will make patchy WiFi a thing of the past

Your prayers are answered

Ellen Tannam

The struggle of patchy WiFi signal is too real.

Whether you’re in the middle of a pivotal episode of your favourite Netflix series, or trying to book tickets for a gig, there’s nothing more heartbreaking than seeing your WiFi signal disappear.

It can leave you banging your head against the wall, but this special plug looks like it will make this situation a relic of the past.

It costs $59.99, (around 50 euro) which may seem to be pretty pricey, but we think the ResetPlug is probably worth it to offset the hours you spend in a year trying to jumpstart your connection.

“The smart plug will act as a WiFi client to test the Internet connection. If the Internet fails to work, the ResetPlug will cycle power to the WiFi equipment to reset the Internet connection.”

After this,”the ResetPlug continues to cycle power every five minutes until the Internet works again.”

Considering more and more of our daily necessities like central heating, smoke alarms and whatnot are controlled by our WiFi connections, we think this is a pretty worthwhile investment to make.

Although it was created for the American market, users in the UK and Ireland will be able to use it.

“The ResetPlug works for outlets rated 90-260V AC. It should work so long as you get the proper physical adapters to change both the plug and the socket. Several international versions are coming soon.”

We need one.
