There’s About To Be A Big Change Made To Your Instagram Feed

This is going to shake things up

Ellen Tannam

Many people spend their idle hours scrolling through Instagram, whether it be to look at the lives of celebrities or keep up with what their friends abroad are doing.

But there’s one big problem. We’re missing out on a lot of our feeds. According to Instagram, we don’t see a massive 70% of our feeds on average. This might mean you miss posts from people you care about the most.

The app are going to try to remedy this with a big change to how our IG timelines work.

They will be using an algorithm to change the order of the photos and videos in your feed according to the likeihood that you will like it. However, this doesn’t mean you will miss the posts, just that the way they are arranged is changed.

“If your favorite musician shares a video from last night’s concert, it will be waiting for you when you wake up, no matter how many accounts you follow or what time zone you live in. And when your best friend posts a photo of her new puppy, you won’t miss it.”
