The couple dropped numerous bombshells last night.

The highly-anticipated interview between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Oprah was broadcast last night.

Needless to say, the exclusive tell-all sent social media into a frenzy.

From rivalry rumours to comments made about Baby Archie, the couple laid everything bare. And so, without further ado, here are seven things we learned from last night’s interview.

1. Meghan’s breaking point

Meghan told Oprah that she “just didn’t want to be alive anymore” in the aftermath of their wedding. Moreover, when she reached out to the royal family for help, she was told that it “wouldn’t be good for the institution.”

2. Married in secret

Harry and Meghan were actually already married before the official royal wedding. The couple organised a small private ceremony three days before. Meghan told Oprah that the televised wedding was a “spectacle for the world”. The couple chose to solidify their union in their backyard.

3 .”Concerns” over Archie’s skin tone

Meghan told Oprah about how a member of the royal family had “concerns” about Archie’s skin tone before he was born. She revealed that she had “several conversations” with the royal family about her future child’s skin tone. Meghan also spoke candidly about the racism she experienced, and how she was offered no protection from “the firm”.

4. Rivalry rumours

Meghan addressed rumours of a feud with Kate Middleton. She explained how an incident in the lead up to her wedding was misreported, with Kate being painted as a victim. In reality, Meghan said that was left in tears after a discussion over bridesmaid dresses. She confirmed that Kate later apologised.  Meghan criticised the press’ coverage of the two duchesses: “They really seem to want a narrative of a hero and a villain.”

5. Baby girl due

In one of the interview’s only light-hearted moments, the couple revealed that they are expecting a baby girl soon. Harry said he is grateful to have another child on the way: “To have any child, any one or two, would be amazing. But to have a boy and then a girl, what more could you ask for? Now we’ve got our family, the four of us and our two dogs. It’s great.”

6. Relationship with the Queen

Meghan spoke highly of Queen Elizabeth II. She revealed that Harry’s grandmother had given her pearl earrings and a matching necklace as an engagement present. Harry confirmed that he also has a “really good relationship” with her.

7. Damaged family bonds

Having said that, Harry spoke about how his relationship with Prince Charles has changed. He said: “I feel really let down because he’s been through something similar, he knows what pain feels like, [and] Archie’s his grandson. But at the same time – I will always love him – but there’s a lot of hurt that’s happened and I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship.” With regards to his brother William, Harry revealed that he loves him “to bits”, but they are on “different paths”.
