A '90s pop star drama inspired by Mandy Moore's early music career is officially in the works.
Variety report the series - currently titled
90's Popstar - will follow a family from a small town in Florida, whose teenage daughter goes from aspiring singer to superstar overnight.
The Bold Type and
Gossip Girl's Amanda Lasher created the project. She will serve as writer as well as executive producer, alongside Mandy Moore.
This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will also serve as executive producers. Adam Londy and Regina Lee will executive produce, with Marc Webb - who is also attached to direct.
The show has been given a pilot order from ABC, with a put-pilot commitment.
