Model Cara Delevingne has lent her support to an important cause, as she encourages people to be proud of their sexuality.

To mark National Coming Out Day, Cara shared an Instagram snap of herself wearing a t-shirt with the slogan “we are you”, although she was quick to point out that she was a little late with her post.

The twenty one-year-old shared the image yesterday, two days after National Coming Out Day.

She wrote the following message to go with her snap: “Doesn’t matter who you are or what you believe it, we are one! Go get yourself one of these shirts right now!

‘I’m late for National Coming Out Day but better late then never. Don’t be scared to be who you are. Please follow @iolovesyou and @selfevidentproject because #WEAREYOU” Cara wrote on Instagram.

National Coming Out Day is observed annually in a number of countries including Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Croatia, Poland, Switzerland, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Cara hasn’t publicly commented on her own sexuality, although she has been linked to both sexes. The model, who has walked for Chanel and Burberry, previously had an on/off relationship with actress Michelle Rodriguez.

In recent days, it has been reported that the actress is currently dating actor Jack O’Connell.
