Drew Barrymore has opened up about why she has only been taking on a few acting projects in recent years.
Speaking to Hamptons magazine about her new film, Miss You Already, the popular actress revealed: “I don’t work in films and movies so much anymore.”
“I can’t. It would take me away from my kids too much, and I’m not willing to do that.
“[Acting will be] every few years at best, and then I’ll just see how that goes. I’ve done two films in five years and even those, I was like, ‘Wow, I just don’t know how to do this right now with kids’.
“Right now, the companies that I’m doing bring me a tremendous amount of happiness.”
“They challenge the things that are important for me to be challenged with, like art and business, and creativity and functionality, and yet I’m being the mom that I want to be.
“So that, for me, is everything,” she continued before later adding, “You know you can’t do everything.”
“You choose your battles. If you’re being the kind of person you want to be – which for me is a parent first – then you get excited about stepping away here and there and focusing on some other things.”
