Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter’s condition has improved following accident

Doctors confirmed that Maddie has regained consciousness.

Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie is awake and breathing on her own following a serious ATV accident on Sunday. The hospital released a statement saying:

“With her father, mother and stepfather by her side, Maddie regained consciousness mid-day Tuesday, February 7.”

The eight-year-old is aware of her surroundings and recognises family members ''who have kept a round-the-clock vigil since the accident.”

“Doctors were able to remove the ventilator today and she is awake and talking. Maddie continues to receive oxygen and is being monitored closely but it appears that she has not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident,'' the statement concluded.

On Sunday, Maddie was involved in a serious accident when she was submerged inside an all-terrain vehicle within a pool. Family members who were nearby couldn't free her from her seat belt until the emergency services arrived and she was pulled out. She was then airlifted to hospital.
