Add us as a preferred source on Google »Rachel Gorry has responded to comments made online about her weight. The influencer is currently nine months postpartum after she and her fiancé, Adrien Kiernan, welcomed twins last August.
The mother of five recently went on a trip with Primark to Portofino in Italy, and took to her social media accounts to post some photos of the holiday.
On Monday, Rachel shared a negative message she had received from a woman online, which appears to have been accidentally sent directly to the influencer herself.
"I think it’s because she hasn’t lost the baby weight from her face yet," the comment read.
Rachel admitted that she'd "had enough" with the negative comments and took to her Instagram story to address the situation.
"Would you like to know why I was so self-conscious about going on holidays?" the influencer asked.
"Messages like this from women thinking they are sending them to their friends, but accidentally sending them to me."
"I’ve been fat-shamed on here for nine months! Imagine having a baby or babies and being fat-shamed by other women online. I’ve had messages like, 'I thought influencers were supposed to lose their baby weight straight away, guess not with this one'," she continued.
"I hate that I’m even coming on to shed light on this, but I’ve actually had enough."
Rachel added that the fact that she is "a size 8/10 and being fat-shamed" scared her as a mother to four daughters. The influencer took the high road, stating that she didn't want to "name and shame" any women for their messages, because she believes in "women supporting".
The mother of five ended her statement by thanking her fans on social media for boosting her confidence.
"You amazing lot on here and the woman I was away with really gave me the confidence to wear the bikinis on holidays, even if I wouldn’t take off the cover-ups. And for that, I thank you so much."
