She may have just gotten married to a dashing Frenchman but Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has said that she is no longer sure that she will have children.
In a surprising interview with The Times Magazine, the X Factor judge responded to a question on whether she wanted to start a family by saying “possibly”, revealing that her attitude towards starting a family had changed in recent times.
“Only possibly. Because I went through a real phase in my life recently, of like: maybe it’s not for me. Because you just assume it’s a natural part of your life. If it happens, don’t get us wrong it happens. But it’s not in me plans,” she explained.
“I just feel… new. I’ve took my two years and I’ve just grown. I’m a woman now.”
However, while she admits that the break-up of her previous marriage to Ashley Cole had left her struggling to get out of bed and “horribly numb”, she remains adamant that she will not let the footballer’s transgressions impact on her current relationship.
“You know what I also realised these past years? I refuse to let somebody else’s s**ty behaviour change me fundamentally. So because you treat me like s***, I’m not going to become bitter and twisted. I’m going to remain the person I am, with the values and beliefs that I had, and let you deal with your s***.”
