Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby has been given a hilarious nickname

Keeley Ryan

No, it isn’t Baby Sussex.

As fans of the royal family (and, let’s face it, just about everyone else in the world) are well aware, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are due to welcome their first child soon.

There isn’t too much known about the future member of the royal family (beyond the fact that Meghan is due in late April or early May).

For the last couple months, many fans have been wondering if Baby Sussex is a boy or girl – or what the newborn’s name would be.

And while fans aren’t likely to be finding out the information about the tot any time soon, it turns out that the Sussexes unborn child has already earned itself a nickname: Clive.

A source told The Sun that the nickname was inspired by the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan were “always popping back to Cliveden”, the luxurious country house hotel where Meghan stayed the night before their wedding, “for romantic stays after their wedding.”

The insider continued:

“They spent a number of days there last summer and autumn.

“Staff are joking that their baby is a Cliveden baby and if it’s a boy they should call him Clive, as they enjoyed their time so much there.

“They often stayed in a very private cottage in the grounds, Spring Cottage, and not many people would know they were there.

“But the ladies in their exercise classes were quite surprised when they used to walk by!

“Meghan really fell in love with the hotel and particularly the history of the two famous women who lived there, Nancy Astor and the Duchess of Sutherland.”

The publication report that the Sussexes loved the National Trust grounds where the hotel is set, and had been spotted walking hand-in-hand by other guests.
