Louis’ Godparents will only be announced today, and as with all royal christenings, it is said to be an intimate family gathering.

Those rumoured to be Godparents are William’s cousins, Peter Phillips, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie or Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, as well as the Duke’s trusted private secretary Miguel Head, who is leaving the palace later this month.

Prince Louis – full name Louis Arthur Charles – was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, on April 23 of this year and weighed 8lb 7oz.
