Victoria and David Beckham break silence on Rebecca Loos affair scandal

Victoria and David Beckham have addressed affair rumours for the first time.

Almost 20 years after rumours began circulating about David having an alleged affair with his personal assistant, Rebecca Loos, Victoria has revealed the strain it put on their marriage.

Speaking in their new Netflix docuseries, BECKHAM, the former Spice Girl admitted that it was the “hardest ” time of her life and that it felt like the couple no longer “had each other”.

“Here’s the thing, we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest,” she said becoming visibly emotional, “up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.

“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either. And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was. And how it affected me.”

David appeared to go through similar turmoil but decided he needed to fight for his family.

“I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty. Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family,” he said.

“And what we had was worth fighting for. There were some days that I would wake up and think, ‘How am I going to go to work? How am I going to walk onto that training pitch?

“How am I going to look as if nothing’s wrong?’ I felt physically sick every day when I opened my eyes, ‘How am I going to do this?'”

These rumours shared by News Of The World in 2003 prompted Victoria to up and move out to Madrid, purchasing a €3.4 million mansion.

Though she made the life-changing decision in a bid to keep her family together she said she “resented” her husband for forcing her to leave the UK.
