5 questions we need answered after season one of Netflix’s Bridgerton

Keeley Ryan

Have you watched Bridgerton yet?

The series — which landed on Netflix yesterday (Christmas Day) — is from Shondaland and creator Chris Van Dusen. It’s described as a romantic, scandalous, and quick-witted series — one that celebrates the timelessness of enduring friendships, families finding their way, and the search for a love that conquers all.

And while it may not have been on Netflix for too long, fans are already totally captivated by the story of the Bridgertons, the Featheringtons, et al. And so are we.

There’s been no officially word on a season two of Bridgerton just yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed. And in the meantime, here are 5 questions we need answered after season one of Netflix’s Bridgerton.

Colin and Penelope

Will Penelope finally get the chance to tell Colin how she really feels about him?  The finale hints at a time jump, and so he could be back from his tour — giving her the perfect chance to share her feelings. Hopefully. Maybe.

Will someone find out the truth about Will?

Secrets never actually seem to stay a secret for long in Bridgerton, so it seems like its only a matter of time before Will Mondrich’s see the light of day. The boxer’s decision to throw the fight seemingly set his growing family up comfortably —  and it may have seemed like a good idea to him at the time. And it seems like he may be playing an even bigger part, if there’s a second season of the show.

But if the fact that the boxer threw the fight comes out, it could have disastrous effects for him and his family. And that could definitely be the case, if the truth about Lord Featherington is uncovered.

What’s next for the Featheringtons?

Speaking of the Featherington family, we’re definitely wondering: where do they go from here? The final episode saw the family’s situation change quite a bit, ending with a new person set to inherit the family’s estate.

And although the show doesn’t actually reveal who this mystery inheritor is, Lady Portia Featherington doesn’t exactly look happy about the news. And if Lord Featherington’s secrets were to be revealed, that could definitely shake things up for them once again.

And how about Lady Whistledown?

Lady Whistledown’s identity is no longer a secret from viewers — but we can’t imagine that Eloise is going to let go of her search for the all-knowing scandal sheet writer that easily. Particularly after

So, will Lady Whistledown come clean about their identity? Or will the cat-and-mouse game to find the truth keep going? And will Whistledown be back to uncover more of the ton’s scandalous secrets next season?

There’s going to be more, right?

Yes, it’s only been a day, but can someone, please, tell us that there will be more Bridgerton? Because after that Whistledown reveal, we definitely need to know what’s going to be happening next.

There’s a lot more material that they could draw on for the show, with eight books in Quinn’s series — each of them focusing on a member of the Bridgerton family. So, if there is a second season, could they move the focus to a different one of the siblings?

Bridgerton is now on Netflix.
