It’s a weekend day during the festive period which means that you probably have a good few things planned.
You might be Christmas shopping, visiting family, or just having a few pints out with your mates who you haven’t seen in a very long time but apparently now have to see because it’s Christmas.
Excellent.
Unfortunately for you though, if any of the above is on your agenda this evening, you may have to fire off a lousy ‘Sorry, can’t make it’ WhatsApp.
Because Elf is on the telly tonight – and you will be watching it.
The hysterical and genuinely heartwarming film follows Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf, as he travels to New York City from the North Pole in a bid to meet his father.
Buddy isn’t like regular elves though, in that he was born to human parents, meaning that he is essentially a human but the movie is still called Elf.
Whatever.
Buddy accosts his father with sweets, singing, and some sexy lingerie as he attempts to form some sort of relationship with a family he has never met before all the while discovering the true meaning of Christmas.
And also getting with Zooey Deschanel, which is always a plus.
Elf is on ITV at 6pm tonight.
