We can’t wait for THIS Max storyline to kick off on EastEnders

'One of the best and most iconic Christmas episodes ever.'

Anna O'Rourke

Ah, Christmas.

It’s a time for overeating, being near the ones you love and, of course, very extreme episodes of our favourite soaps.

Yep, soap writers’ twisted minds go into overdrive for the festive season and thankfully we’ve plenty of juicy drama to look forward to on EastEnders over the next few weeks.

Jake Wood, who plays Max Branning, has hinted at what’s to come for his character and we are buzzing.

Max will be at his best dark self over Christmas as he seeks revenge for being blamed for Lucy Beale’s murder.

“Max goes on a murderous, psychotic bender,” Jake told The Sun

“It is all coming to a head and hopefully, in years to come, it will be seen as one of the best and most iconic Christmas episodes ever.”

“When I was reading the Christmas scripts the only way I could make sense of what Max was doing was that he was having a psychotic episode.

“He’s reached pretty much rock bottom and he’s a dangerous man, because he has convinced himself that he has absolutely nothing to lose. He’s unhinged.

“To my mind, this is Max at his lowest ebb — and he’s capable of murder, 100 per cent.”

Ooh.

There have been hints that Walford stalwarts like Stacey and Phil could fall victim to Max so it looks like no-one is safe.

Even the promotional shots released by the soap for his Christmas storyline has us excited.

I mean…

Is he going to strangle someone with those fairy lights? Are his hands getting not getting very warm? How many days has he gone without sleep? (Those bags are not Chanel, if you catch our drift.)

We’ll just have to wait and see what unfolds.
