Game Of Thrones’ Lena Headey admits she didn’t think anyone would ever watch the show

Jade Hayden

Incorrect, Lena.

Game Of Thrones is a very popular TV show.

This statement is a fact and cannot be disputed by anybody or anything.

Since the HBO series kicked off all those years ago, it has amassed an incredible amount of fans who have waited with baited breath to see who’s going to win the, ahem, Game Of Thrones.

And now as the show comes into its final series, it looks like we may finally get an answer (or not, the show is about other things too like).

Before all of that kicks off though, Lena Headey has taken a bit of time to reminisce about the early days of Game Of Thrones – when they couldn’t even afford chairs to sit on and didn’t think anybody was ever going to watch the show.

Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, she said that she first time she read the script, she thought: “No one will ever watch this.”

“It was kind of bonkers,” she said.

“There was no money put into because it was a pilot so you don’t know if it would go or not so you just make it in a tent in the cold, and we were like, “What are we doing?”

“Then it came out and people loved it and we were like, “Oh, I guess we’re going to have jobs!”’

Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister, said that the first episode was shot somewhere else, and eventually the entire crew moved to Belfast when it became apparent that the show was here to stay.

Game Of Thrones will be returning to HBO on April 14.
