Gavin and Stacey’s Joanna Page says the upcoming Christmas special made her cry

Same, girl.

Same.

Joanna Page has said that the upcoming Gavin and Stacey Christmas special made her cry.

The actor, who plays Stacey in the wildly popular sitcom, sat down with the rest of the cast last week to read through the script for the one hour special.

She said that once all of the cast got together in the same room for rehearsals, things got emotional.

“I hadn’t seen so many of the cast for so many years,’ she told the Daily Star. “I kept touching everybody’s face and saying, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s you – I’ve missed you so much.'”

“We sat down to read the script and it was like we’d never been away. We all came together like a big family. It was really lovely. We had a right laugh.”

Page added that the script is, in fact, quite good and that it made her cry when she read it.

“The script is brilliant. It’s really good,” she said. “It made me cry, it made me laugh and it made me think, ‘I just want to spend Christmas with this family.'”

The sitcom, starring Page, Mathew Horne, James Cordon, and Ruth Jones, has been off the air for eight years following three series and one Christmas special.

Cordon recently revealed that he and Jones had been considering returning to the characters for a while, and that now felt like the right time.

“Over the last ten years we’ve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like,” he said. “And so in secret we took the plunge and wrote this one hour special.”

“We’ve loved revisiting Barry and Essex again and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.”

Gavin and Stacey will return to our screens this Christmas day for a one hour special.
