The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for a THIRD season

Jade Hayden

handmaid's tale season three

Blessed be the fruit, lads.

The second season of The Handmaid’s Tale kicked off last week and if you’re going to go ahead and say that the first episode wasn’t the most intense hour of your young life, you are incorrect.

There was treachery, there was agony, there was an opening scene that literally stressed you out more than you’ve ever been stressed out in your entire life.

Just a great viewing experience, really.

It was so great that Hulu have only gone and decided to renew The Handmaid’s Tale for a third season already.

Deadline reports that the streaming service surpassed 20 million US subscribers, proving that their commitment to original shows is paying off quite a bit.

The season two premier of The Handmaid’s Tale racked up double the amount of viewers as the first season did, so you can kind of understand why they’ve decided to go ahead with a third one.

If you’re reading all this though and haven’t got a clue why we’re so delighted about this renewal, let us explain to you why.

The Handmaid’s Tale is a story about a load of women who have found themselves living in a dystopian nightmare where they slowly lose all of their rights eventually coming to act as vessels for growing children that are not their own.

Sound familiar?

It should.

The show also stars Elisabeth Moss who is an absolute powerhouse and deserves to be given pretty much all of the acting awards going.

She’s amazing and you need to see her in this.

The Handmaid’s Tale is currently streaming online or you can watch it on RTE2 every Thursday night.

You can also catch up on the RTE player.
