The actors, who rose to fame after starring as Katniss and Peeta in The Hunger Games, are now set to star in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Lawrence will reprise her role as Katniss Everdeen, while Hutcherson will return as Peeta Mellark.
The pair will star in a scene from the epilogue of Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel, Sunrise on the Reaping.
The last time they appeared in a film from The Hunger Games franchise was 2015's Mockingjay: Part Two.
Many fans were shocked to hear the news that Katniss and Peeta were returning to their screens, but those who read the books knew there was a chance they would return.
Sunrise on the Reaping follows a young Haymitch Abernathy as his name is 'called' for the 50th Hunger Games.
President Snow decides to call twice the number of tributes to mark the Quarter Quell, including Haymitch Abernathy. The book takes place 24 years before Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark's games.
Joseph Zeda and Whitney Peak will star as Haymith and Lenore Dove in Sunrise on the Reaping. Ralph Fiennes will star as President Snow in the fifth Hunger Games installment.
Kieran Culkin, Glenn Close, McKenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor, and Ben Wang will also star.

Francis Lawrence will direct Sunrise on the Reaping, with a script written by Billy Ray.
