Nicola Coughlan has joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building

Nicola Coughlan will join the cast for the show's upcoming season

The Derry Girls actress is among multiple new additions to the mystery comedy-drama's cast. Big names such as David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis, and Kathryn Hunter are also set to appear in the upcoming season.

The casting announcement was made by the show’s official social media account, which told followers to “keep calm and update the case file”, alongside the stars' names and photos.

Season six is currently in production in the UK and will be the first season that has been filmed outside of the United States.

Only Murders in the Building follows a trio of amateur crime solvers, played by Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short. They host a true-crime podcast while investigating murders connected to their fancy New York apartment building. The sixth season will see the trio take their investigations across the ocean to London.

Last October, it was announced that Only Murders in the Building had been renewed for a sixth season; however, no official release date has been confirmed just yet.

All ten episodes of Only Murders in the Building season 6 will be available to watch on Disney+ in Ireland and internationally.
