School of Rock Musical CONFIRMED For 2015!

Are you ready to rock? Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber has officially announced a musical version of School of Rock will open on Broadway next year. The School of Rock musical production, which is due to open in November 2015, will feature shots from the 2003 film of the same name starring Jack Black. The story follows a failed musician who hijacks a classroom as a substitute teacher, and forms a band to compete at a local Battle of the Bands. A band made of schoolchildren. The musical is set to open at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York on December 6^th, and will be directed by Laurence Connor of Les Miserables. Tim Rice and my first performed piece, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, was written for a school. "Ever since then, I and my Art Foundation have been actively involved in music education back home in Britain. It will be a joy to discover and work with talented musical kids in the USA and, who knows, maybe discover a rock star or three of the next generation." With casting due to begin in the New Year, we’re secretly hoping Jack Black might be considered to reprise his role.
