The Sunday Sessions has welcomed some incredible talent over the last seven months but there is something truly special about Dublin-based four-piece Staring At Lakes.
After a recent shake up within the band, the newly formed quartet is making its mark on the Irish music scene.
Laura Sheary on vocals and keys is the undeniable shining star in this group. The band's distinctive sound, clever hooks and poetic lyrics make them one of the (if not the) most exciting up-and-coming acts in the country.
Staring At Lakes' clever interpretation of 'Carol Of The Bells' for the Christmas covers special was outstanding and so we asked the group back to The Workman's Club in Dublin for an acoustic set.
Listen to the band take on The Cure's 'Boys Don't Cry' exclusively for The Sunday Sessions.
Staring At Lakes also performed tracks 'Consanguinea' and 'Canis Majoris' from their debut album Warm Wars.
Staring At Lakes won the IMRO competition and secured a place at Other Voice's Other Room in December, beating 700 other entries. It goes without saying that 2015 promises to be a massive year for the group.
