This 10-Year Old Music Prodigy Just Signed A Music Deal And We Should All Just Go Home Now

A 10-year old classical music prodigy has just become the youngest British composer ever signed to an agent. If that wasn’t enough to leave you feeling under-accomplished, she also just wrote her first full-length opera. Alma Deutscher is the latest artist signed to classical music agency Askonas Holt, and the talented little lady has been playing both piano and violin since she was a toddler. According to The Telegraph, Alma’s father Guy said he hopes to tailor her schedule with a normal life and help her maintain a "lovely, happy, down-to-earth" child: "The first priority is always that she continues to be a happy child. This will help us with the challenge of helping her to fulfil her potential, while first and foremost allowing her to have a happy childhood, and stay a sane, normal, down-to-earth human being." Alma began playing the piano when she was just two years old, and the violin when she was three. She started making her own compositions at the age of four.
