U2 were due to kick off a week-long residency on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon however were due to cancel last minute after Bono was involved in a cycling accident that resulted in the frontman ending up in hospital.
In a bid to ensure fans of the show were not disappointed, Fallon decided to fill Bono’s platforms with a little help from resident band The Roots.
“The show must go on”, Fallon told the audience as he pulled “Bono’s wardrobe”, which consisted of a khaki green cap and pair of sunglasses, from under his desk.
The Roots and Fallon did their best to channel the legendary Irish rockers and performed a fantastic rendition of hit anthem ‘Desire’.
