The Olympia gig everyone in the country should attend

Cassie Delaney

It has been announced this morning that a special gig in aid of The Repeal Project will take place this April.

The full line-up of performers will be announced soon but given the magnitude of support the project has already received, it’s undeniable that the event will be absolutely stellar.

Previous events run by the project and supporters have attracted national attention and sold-out. The Olympia gig will be the largest event thus far and will be an unmissable opportunity to connect with protestors, activists and those who wish to see the 8th amendment finally repealed.

Anna Cosgrave, founder of The Repeal Project says:

“I set up Repeal Project, with the intention of opening up a conversation around reproductive rights in Ireland, as I had become so disillusioned, upset and frustrated that every day up to 11 women were being failed by our State.”

“As an a-political outerwear initiative, that sought to give a very hidden issue more visibility, the project has encouraged women to come forward sharing their stories and is now acting as a much needed fundraising mechanism for organisations in need of funding.”

Since their launch in  2016, the Repeal jumpers have sold in their thousands and have been worn by supporters around the world from Vivienne Westwood to Sharon Horgan and from Gloria Steinem to a human rights lecturer in the Arctic Circle and politicians in the Dail.

Tickets for the Olympia gig go on sale tomorrow morning at 9am from Ticketmaster.
