We didn’t know he had it in him.
The Prince’s Trust Awards took place at The London Palladium last night. As part of the event, Prince Charles met with the celebrity ambassadors, including Cheryl Tweedy, Ant and Dec, Olly Murs and Tom Jones.
He also gave a speech at the event, where he somehow managed to absolutely roast Cheryl over her many name changes as a result of her marriages.
As we know, throughout the years Cheryl has gone by her maiden name, Cheryl Tweedy, to Cheryl Cole, from when she married Ashley, then Cheryl Fernandez-Versini from her marriage to Bernard and then back to Tweedy again following their divorce.
Now, it looks like Prince Charles has made light of her name changing when he said:
“I am hugely grateful to all the celebrity ambassadors. Cheryl Tweedy… I thought to myself some time ago ‘who is Cheryl Tweedy?’ I suddenly realised I knew the Cheryl bit but missed out on the Tweedy. But, I am enormously grateful to her for raising £1million.”
Then he added, “I can’t keep up with all the changes of names that the companies do either, ladies and gentlemen.”
