Remember Pugsley Addams? His real-life little sister is a HUGE star

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Did you know this?

You may remember him from the 1991 movie The Addams Family and the sequel Addams Family Values, but Jimmy Workman, who played Pugsley in both films, is happily retired from acting these days.

Now 36, the eldest child of Morticia and Gomez Addams prefers life on the other side of the camera.

In fact, Workman, who works in the technical crew for film and TV, has been eclipsed by the success of his youngest sister… none other than Modern Family star Ariel Winter.

Winter plays family nerd Alex Dunphy in the award-winning show. She also voices the title character in the Disney Junior show Sofia the First.

The family is rarely far from the headlines, after a dispute saw Ariel (real name Ariel Workman Winter) removed from the care of her mother Chrisoula and father Glenn Workman following allegations that her mother had been physically and emotionally abusive towards her.

On May 15, 2015, Winter declared on Twitter that she was officially emancipated.

Ariel’s older sister Shanelle was awarded guardianship, which was later contested by their brother Jimmy, who claimed Shanelle was unfit to look after her.

Happily the actress is now 20 and has moved on, however, she no longer has a relationship with her mother.

‘We haven’t spoken in three-and-a-half years,’ the actress revealed to Good Morning America.

‘It’s really hard to have that kind of drama in your life and to be going through that court situation and have an open court case and have everybody look at it,’ she said.

‘It’s already hard enough for abuse victims, but it’s harder in the public eye when everybody has an opinion.’
