“I feel like I kinda need her to manage my entire life.”

Claire Irwin, the beloved quantity surveyor on Room To Improve, made her triumphant return to Irish telly over the weekend, and viewers were delighted.

Claire first joined the Room To Improve team in 2019, and she is often tasked with the tricky logistics of the home makeovers, which isn’t easy when you’re up against the eccentric Dermot Bannon.

Needless to say, the quantity surveyor is something of an icon for seasoned Room To Improve viewers, and the latest episode saw her cement that icon status further.

The mere arrival of no-nonsense Claire prompted her stans to jump on Twitter to celebrate her return.

One fan shared a photo of the quantity surveyor in her hard hat and said: “I feel like I kinda need her to manage my entire life.”

Same, to be honest.

Elsewhere on Twitter, fans were full of praise for the episode generally. During the programme, Dermot came under budget by a whopping €10,000 while revamping Lisa and Marc’s home in Kilmacud, Dublin.

One viewer wrote: “Under budget. UNDER BUDGET!!!! It came in under budget. The Irish nation is in shock.”

Others were glad to see that the Room To Improve team were able to design a sensory room for the couple’s child.

Psychologist Mark Smyth wrote: “The best bit about this episode of #RoomToImprove is showing the public the realities of having an autistic child & the lengths parents will go to in order to support their sensory & self-regulation needs.”

Another psychologist, Niamh Fitzpatrick tweeted: “A beautiful home for beautiful people. No matter the hoops that Lisa & Mark had to jump through on this build, they kept their lovely warm, reasonable way about them & they handled everything thrown at them. Delighted they got the home they wanted for their boys.”
