There’s another sequel to The Devil Wears Prada and it sounds fab

It's due out in June 2018.

Keeley Ryan

It’s been almost 15 years since the novel The Devil Wears Prada was released.

The book – and later the movie starring Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep – introduced us to the world of Andy Sachs, Emily Charlton and Miranda Priestly.

And the follow up, 2013’s Revenge Wears Prada, picked up ten years later with Andy and Emily, now the editors of a bridal magazine.

But as Andy starts to plan her own wedding, it turns out she’s unable to fully leave her past with Miranda behind.

But the latest novel in the series, When Life Gives You Liululemons, won’t be focusing on Andy – but rather on Emily Charlton, her high-strung, fellow ex-assistant to Miranda Priestly.

Due out in June 2018, the book follows Emily – now a high-profile ‘image consultant’ for celebrities – after she lands a huge opportunity in a slightly unexpected place: the suburbs.

She ends up trading the Big Apple for Greenwich, Connecticut, as she takes on her newest client, supermodel and senator’s wife Karolina Hartwell, who is trying to repair her image after a DUI.

The pair are linked by Miriam, a former partner at a prestigious law firm, who is now struggling to transition into her life as a stay-at-home mom.

And while we’ve still got a good while to go until it hits shelves, Entertainment Weekly recently unveiled an excerpt from the book – and it sounds like it’s going to definitely be interesting.

It all begins with Emily at a lively New Year’s Eve party in Los Angeles, which is “one of the most annoying nights of the year in arguably the most annoying city known to man.”

She gets an urgent call in the middle of the festivities from a celebrity manager, whose client, the Bieber-esque Rizzo, finds himself in the middle of a PR nightmare when he’s snapped wearing a Nazi costume.

As you would expect, the quick-thinking Emily coaches the manager into recovery mode over the phone.

She says:

“Listen up. Here’s the plan. You’re going to jump in a cab and head over to 1 OAK and forcibly remove him from there.

“Bring a girl or two, it’ll look better, and then get him back to his hotel room and don’t let him leave.

“Sit in front of the damn door if you have to. Do you have his passwords?

“Actually, forget it—just take his phone. Drop it in the toilet. We need to buy ourselves time without some idiotic drunken tweet from him.”

And before she’s even hung up, she’s made plans to fly to New York City in the morning to help her latest client – leaving her husband, Miles, alone at the party.

When Life Gives You Lululemons is due to hit shelves on June 5, 2018.
