First Dates is back on screens tonight.
I am very excited and when checking the programme’s return date, I found out some behind the scenes info about everyone’s favourite barman, Merlin Griffiths.

It turns out that unlike his on-screen colleague Laura Tott, Merlin’s real-life actual job if you will, is similar to his TV role.
He owns a pub.
Yep, you’ll find this information in his Twitter bio where he has almost 30k followers which isn’t all that surprising considering how lovely he comes across on the show.
Generally, those arriving at the restaurant meet Merlin before greeting their dates and he always gets the conversation going.
According to The Sun, he owns a pub by the name of The Priory Tavern which is located in Kilburn, north-west London.
This pub is co-owned by him and his partner Lucille, with the couple meeting at a cocktail competition a number of years ago.
Lucille and Merlin have one child and awhhhhh, we kind of love hearing about the First Dates staff in real life.
