First Dates waitress Laura Tott actually has a completely different career

We had no idea.

If you're a fan of First Dates, you'll recognise Laura Tott, who's a very familiar face in the London restaurant each week. Viewers know her best as a waitress on the hit TV show but it turns out she has a completely different career. Yes, Laura is actually an ambulance technician and often documents her day-to-day goings on her Instagram account.

As you'll see below, she regularly shares updates and this one was before a night shift. Not only that, Laura previously joined the Royal Navy, with HMS Raleigh in Cornwall and worked there for a year in 2015. Sharing the below memory, she wrote:

"Exactly a year ago today I joined the Royal Navy. I made some of the best and craziest friends. I'm so proud of all of you and I miss you so much".

At the moment, Laura is a member of an emergency ambulance crew as well as working on the Channel 4 programme. It always looks like the First Dates team have a ball together and judging by Laura's recent Instagram post, they're pals off-screen too. She and Cici Coleman always have the banter during the show and they're clearly close friends in real life too. As a major First Dates fan, this makes me happy and I doubt I'm the only one, it's such a good show.
