Forget Ed Sheeran, people LOVE Ed Sheeran’s Wexford granny

Her

She’s very proud of her little Edward.

RTÉ went to Wexford on Friday to meet Ed Sheeran’s granny Nancy, who’s very proud of her grandson on the day that he releases his third album ÷ (Divide).

The record may be receiving some mixed reviews but will sell roughly 8 trillion copies regardless; Nancy, meanwhile, doesn’t care about any of that.

She rifles through the family albums and pulls out some absolute classics – let’s just say he hasn’t changed a bit – before she listens to Nancy Mulligan, a song he wrote about her.

It’s adorable stuff altogether and even more heartrending considering another song on the album, Supermarket Flowers, refers to Ed’s other grandmother and how it impacted him when she passed away.

Ed, we can’t cope at all today.
