WATCH: The trailer for Sarah Paulson’s new Netflix thriller has landed

Sarah McKenna Barry

This looks terrifying.

Great news for Sarah Paulson fans as the trailer for her upcoming thriller has just landed.

The actress’ latest film, Run, will be released on Netflix at the start of April.

If the trailer is anything to go by, this film is bound to give you a decent fright.

Billed as a psychological thriller, Run will see Sarah Paulson play a single mother caring for her daughter, who is a wheelchair user.

Don’t let this premise fool you though. This film looks anything but wholesome.

In the movie, Chloe – portrayed by Kiera Allen – is desperate to play a more active role in her own life. However, when she starts digging deeper into her mother’s background, she realises that everything is not as it seems.

The trailer for Run looks promisingly spooky, particularly if you’re into jump scares and trippy cinematography.

Fittingly, this mother/daughter thriller was scheduled for a Mother’s Day release in 2020, but this plan was disrupted by Covid-19 restrictions.

Instead, filmmaker Aneesh Chaganty opted for a streaming release.

So far, reviews for Paulson’s latest film have been positive. On Rotten Tomatoes, for instance, Run has an 89% approval rating.

Meanwhile, in her review for AllHorror.com, writer Jessica Gomez praised the thriller: “If you were captivated by the story of Gypsy Rose and her mother Dee Dee Blanchard, then I’ve got a psychological thriller with your name on it.”

Crooked Marquee’s Kimber Myers described Run as “almost too intense at points”.

American Hulu users were able to stream Run in late 2020, ahead of its Netflix release. During its debut weekend, the film was both the most-watched Hulu film and the most talked about movie on Twitter.

Thankfully, Sarah Paulson fans won’t have long to wait to watch this flick. Run arrives on Netflix on 2 April, just in time for the bank holiday weekend.
