It’s time to book ourselves in for confession because new research has shown that the average mom lies to their kids around 20 times per day!

The shocking results revealed that mothers lie to their tots throughout the day despite giving out to their children about fibbing.

The average mother lies to her children in order to encourage them to eat faster and get to bed earlier.

The research showed that 84 per cent of naughty mothers said they lie in order to save time and hassle.

Mothers are the queens of deception, spiking milkshakes with medicine and bribing children with sweets to get them to finish their dinner.

According to The Sun, Susanne Wright, a spokesperson for Seven Seas said: “It’s no surprise mums look to innovate ways of saving time in order to fit everything in.”

The research showed that many mothers feel snowed under with the responsibilities of childcare and the home and 33 per cent feel they do not get enough support from their other half.

Ms Wright said: “Mums should not be afraid to ask their family or partner and may find it beneficial to encourage them to be more involved in the day-to-day running of the home.”
