A New Study Reveals that Turning to Children in The Car Causes Accidents

Pandemonium in the back seat of a car is a huge distraction for Irish parents and can cause serious car accidents.

Whether the children are messing, arguing or bawling in the back seat of the car taking your eyes off the road to confront them puts your family at risk.

According to a new survey revealed yesterday one in six Irish parents have had a car accident or a near miss when driving with their kids.

Turning around to confront unruly children in the back seat of the car has caused a car accident or a close call for 16 per cent of Irish parents.

According to The Irish Sun, AA Ireland’s Conor Faughan said: “As any parent knows it can be extremely stressful travelling with young children in the car, toys get dropped, tantrums happen, children get ill.

“It can be a real test on concentration levels and the natural instinct is to turn around.

“If your little darlings do act up, take a deep breath, keep your eyes ahead and find somewhere safe to pull in,” he said.

AA Ireland responded to 28 per cent more break down call outs this week as a number of school run commuters returned to Irish roads.
